Academic Support
Columbus Africentric Early College is committed to building a strong academic program that addresses the needs of all students. We offer college preparatory courses in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and English, as well as college level courses at the end of their sophomore year. African American studies courses are required for graduation and are open to parents. We offer basic and Advanced Computer Technology classes, Sociology, a writers' seminar, Marching Band, Dance and Visual Arts courses. At the Columbus Africentric Early College, we are committed to passing the baton of academic, cultural, and historical excellence to our youth.
Academic Brief


EARLY COLLEGE CURRICULUM:
Columbus Africentric Early College provides students entering 6th through 12th grade an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science transfer degree from Columbus State Community College (upon completion of the Dual Enrollment/Higher Education Partnership program).


We are proud to provide an educational experience by implementing Columbus City Schools’ curriculum infused with the Africentric principles of “Nguzo Saba and Ma’at” (Balance, Harmony, Justice, Order, Reciprocity, Righteousness, and Truth). Additionally, the staff is committed to provide a positive and productive learning environment by addressing the needs of the whole child through African-centered holistic perspectives and beliefs.
